Review: Spank! The Fifty Shades Parody at the Buckhead Theatre http://www.purepolitics.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4317:review-spank-the-fifty-shades-parody-at-the-buckhead-theatre&catid=43:dr-wilson-trivino-&Itemid=60 Atlanta, Georgia- Spank! The Fifty Shades Parody at the Buckhead Theatre is the funniest and best show I have seen this year.

It is a take off the book trilogy Fifty Shades series that created a stir among women everywhere.  As a man I must say I was curious and did do my research in reading them.  Not familiar with the books, no worries as Spank! has no association with the author E.L. James or Fifty Shades.

In this play, there is a young virgin Tasha Woode (Michelle Vezilj) who is seduced by billionaire Hugh Hanson (Gabe Bowling) in a wildly exotic adventure.  All the while the characters really reside within the mind of the desperate housewife E.B. Janet (Suzanna Sole) who is attempting to write the great American novel while taking a literal fantasy voyage from the humdrum of her 15 year marriage.

The set is simple but the dialogue is hot, where they take the double meanings to the edge and back.

Spank! The Fifty Shades Parody at the Buckhead Theatre has fast and furious dialogue that attest to a well written play.

Review: A Streetcar Named Desire at the Next Stage Theatre http://www.purepolitics.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4315:review-a-streetcar-named-desire-at-the-next-stage-theatre&catid=43:dr-wilson-trivino-&Itemid=60 Atlanta, Georgia- I had a one of those moments of a lifetime when I was sitting in on a talk back with Annabella Lopez Ochoa after the debut of her ballet Requiem for a Rose with the Atlanta Ballet.

This remarkable choreographer referred to a past ballet that she collaborated with the Scottish Ballet on A Streetcar Named Desire.  Of which prompted me to say “stella”. She looked at me and said that I had to say it three times in succession. So in the great hall of the Cobb Energy Center I yelled out “Stella…Stella…Stella” which was a thrill.  That moment would have never happen had I not seen the Next Stage Theatre production of A Streetcar Named Desire at the Alley Stage.

Directed by Richard Garner, Much Ado About Nothing is an easy play to understand and enjoy. In comes a hero and there is much celebration, when suddenly fidelity, family honor, and respect is tested to reaffirm the truth.

The original cast from the Jersey Boys has such a fun run on Broadway with over 3000 performances they decided to continue the adventure in their new venture as the Midtown Men. These fantastic four consisted of Christian Hoff, Michale Longoria, J. Robert Spencer, and Daniel Reichard, each with an impressive list of accomplishments in their own rite.
